Opening Reception: Jason Kenning: "Nevermind the Weather"

*Please join us to welcome visiting artist Jason Kenning at the opening of
"Nevermind the Weather", this Friday, June 26 from 5-9 pm.*

How does being more connected digitally translate into our physical lives?
Does it benefit or harm the environment? How do seemingly insurmountable
issues like climate change affect our decisions as individuals and society
as a whole? Does technology alienate us, or redefine who we are and what we
become?

“Nevermind the Weather” is an exhibition of paintings and sculpture
that illustrate the ecology of our digital lives. This series takes
inspiration from the way our culture consumes technology just as the
environment is consumed by it.

Jason Kenning graduated from Creighton University in 2007 with a Bachelor
of Fine Arts and co-major in philosophy. He has frequently joins those
academic and intellectual interests into his drawings, paintings, and
sculptures beginning with his BFA show “Pluralism” and continuing to this
day. His work is driven by a love of all types of media, figurative and
portrait studies, and the emotional and the narrative possibilities of
visual art. This will be his last Midwest show before relocating to
Portland, Oregon.
