St. Patty’s Day Poets

Let poets Rich Smith, Megan Kaminski, and Hannah Gamble top off your St. Patty’s day. Megan Kaminski’s first book of poetry is Desiring Map (Coconut Books, 2012). She is also the author of seven chapbooks, most recently Wintering Prairie (Dusie Kollektiv/above ground press, 2014). Her second book Deep City (forthcoming, Coconut Books fall 2015) explores the body and the city as architectures in crisis. She teaches creative writing and literature at the University of Kansas. She also curates the Taproom Poetry Series in downtown Lawrence. Rich Smith is the author of All Talk (Poor Claudia, 2014) and Great Poem of Desire and Other Poems (Poor Claudia 2013). He publishes book reviews for Poetry Northwest, and also art criticism for Vignettes. He’s currently the Visiting Professor of Poetry at the University of Central Missouri, where he edits poetry for Pleiades. Hannah Gamble is the author of Your Invitation to a Modest Breakfast, and the recipient of a 2014 Lilly/ Rosenberg fellowship from the Poetry Foundation as well as the 2015 winner of the Neil Postman award from Rattle magazine. She lives in Chicago where she was the 2014 Artist in Residence at the Museum of Science and Industry, and is a featured reader in The Clark Street Bridge arts & science performance series.
