Description: As the oldest farmers' market in Kansas, the Downtown Lawrence Farmers' Market offers a festive, bustling market with the freshest, healthiest food grown in Kansas as well as a strong sense of community among growers and consumers.
The DLFM is a "producer only" market; everything sold is grown, prepared or crafted by its members. With more than 80 growers, ranchers, bakers and fine craftspeople, the Downtown Lawrence Farmers' Market is the place to go for the freshest and finest quality produce, meat, and artisan crafts. Learn more about our individual members in the Vendor Directory.
At the Downtown Lawrence Farmers' Market you will find a wide variety of seasonal produce: sweet corn, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, melons, beans, greens, potatoes, snow peas, asparagus, apples, and much more! Check our chart to see what is currently in season.
In addition fresh fruits and vegetables, our vendors offer herbs, plants and fresh cut flowers, meat (from beef to emu!), farm fresh eggs, honey, baked goods, jellies, soaps and treats for your canine companion.
To stay up to date current on seasonal produce and special events be sure to sign-up for our weekly e-newsletter. The Freshest News is sent each Thursday during the market season and also includes vendor profiles, great recipes and coupons.
We are proud to be one of only two Kansas farmers' markets equipped to accept Food Stamps using a wireless point of sale device. This means we are also able to process debit cards should you run short of cash while shopping at the market. Read more about this option on the Market Token section.
With three weekly markets we make it convenient to shop for locally raised agricultural products from mid-April to mid-November...
Come early to the Saturday Market and experience the ringing of the bell - the official opening of the market at 7:00 am. Enjoy hot coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice and numerous breakfast choices at one of the tables in the Market Square before mingling among the 95 vendor stalls. Pause for a few moments to listen to one of the local musical groups performing each Saturday. Visit with the Master Gardeners to get advice on plants or one of the many groups that join us at market to connect with our community. You won't be disappointed to have spent part of your morning with us!
Stop by the Tuesday and Thursday Markets for more fun and to stock up for the rest of the week. Although smaller than the Saturday Market, on Tuesdays and Thursdays you'll find a wide variety of produce, plants and honey. Parking is conveniently located in the same downtown lot as the market making it an ideal destination for seniors to redeem their Kansas Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks.
Your experience at the Lawrence Farmers' Market is bound to be a great one. You'll fill your bags with goodies then walk away knowing you've strengthened your local economy by directly supporting your area farmers.
