November 18 through December 30, filling the Gallery at the Lumberyard Arts Center, a large Christmas Village Display will be on loan from Mr. and Mrs. Art Cederholm. The lighted Village will have many different scenes, including one representing a small mountain with Santa's village. The pieces have been collected by the Cederholms since the early to mid-nineties.

Mr. Cederholm said, "At first we just set things up under the Christmas tree and then I expanded to setting it up on the dining room table. Of course this interfered with Christmas dinner, but I guess you have to make sacrifices."

"There was a three year period where Sam’s Club had rather large sets available just before the holidays and of course I couldn’t resist buying them each year. We came to Kansas in spring of 2005 and this was when I started to build the 4’X4’ tables that I presently use. I started with four and now we have nine tables. A couple years ago Darlene found a deal with Hawthorne Press to purchase replica’s of buildings from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. This led us to devoting two of the tables to represent this movie set. This year I've completed the ninth table which will depict a small mountain scene with Santa’s village."

The Gallery will be open Tue-Fri 1 to 4 pm and Saturdays 9am to noon. The display will also be open during the Holiday Art sale on Saturday November 26, from 10am to 7pm and during the Festival of Lights Parade in downtown Baldwin on the evening of Nov. 26th. There will be refreshments on the evening of the parade. Closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day.
