The Watkins Museum will host a free drop-in summer activity every Wednesday in June and July. From 11 AM to noon, attendees can learn and play a different historic game or pastime. Modern favorites and old-fashioned games alike will be featured, including marbles, jacks, Annie Over, Grace Hoops, Hide and Seek, and a special bubble day. The game of the week will be posted on the Watkins’ Facebook page and website.
Children are invited to bring a sense of adventure and fun as we play our way through history. The games are geared towards children 5 and up, but younger children are encouraged to join in the fun and explore the Victorian playhouse on the third floor.
For more information on the Summer Game Series and other family activities, contact the Watkins Museum at 785-841-4109, or visit the museum website at www.watkinsmuseum.org.
