One of the best bagel places I've ever been to.
They have great selections of bagels. Jalepeno bagels with butter for a light lunch are great.
Best thing to try: A Chicago bagel dog. It's awesome. Don't expect to be stuffed, but if you're walking into a bagel place that shouldn't be a priority.
The only knock against it for atmosphere is that you cannot watch them making the bagels like some of the places back in NY state.

The Einstein Bros. near Hy-Vee has good service, is well-managed, and clean. I no longer go to the downtown location because of indifferent and sometimes obnoxious service, and because the place is a mess. Too bad--when I first came to town seven years ago it was much, much better. Hey, more power to you if you like to party, but counter help, when you are in front of the public handling food, don't be slobs.

The closest thing to real bagels you will find in Lawrence. All others are just baked doughy bread.
