Stop-Loss

Rating: R

Stars (out of 4): ***

Length: 1 hour, 52 minutes

Synopsis: "Stop-Loss" is being marketed by MTV Films with its good-looking actors and new rock soundtrack upfront, but it's actually a thought-provoking, even-handed drama. Director Kimberly Peirce's Iraq war drama follows in the footsteps of "coming home" war movies, and asks some tough questions about the definition of duty.

Hancock

This reimagining of the superhero as a loathesome, foul-mouthed, often inept beast can't even be saved by Will Smith. For while, it seems as if the improbable storyline will somehow work. But then it devolves into the terrible movie you expect. And given the sailor-caliber swearing, how it earned a PG-13 rating is a mystery. Showtimes, review and more. Watch trailer.
