More of a road map leading toward the original "Exorcist" than an actual movie, "Exorcist: The Beginning" unfolds with all the urgency of a History Channel production. Stellan Skarsgard is good as Father Merrin, but there's nothing scary going on here except a lack of faith in what made the first movie so frightening.
