Laser show coming to TPAC
Topeka ï¿½ Paramount's Laser Spectacular will appear at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Topeka Performing Arts Center, 214 S.E. Eighth St.
The show features computer graphics, animation and special effects plus footage from "The Wizard of Oz," and music from Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon."
Tickets are $17 in advance and $19 on the day of the show. Tickets are available at the TPAC Box Office, (785) 297-9000; at Ticketmaster outlets, (785) 234-4545; or can be purchased online at www.tpactix.org.
Blues Angels to fly over KC
Kansas City, Mo. ï¿½ The Kansas City Aviation Expo 2000 will present the Blue Angels, the Navy's precision flying team Friday through Sunday at the Kansas City downtown airport.
Flight simulator hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is free.

'Inherit the Wind' auditions set
Auditions for "Inherit the Wind," will be held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Lawrence Community Theatre, 1501 N.H.
The play, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, is based on the famous Scopes trial of 75 years ago. During the trial over whether evolution should be taught in schools, Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan tussled over a "man's right to think" and "the contest between religious fundamentalism and science."
The production is scheduled to run Sept. 2 through Oct. 8.
Perusal scripts are available from the theater office. A $10 deposit is required.

Kansas City, Mo. ï¿½ The Sports Illustrated for Kids Roadtrip, an 18-wheeler truck stocked with virtual reality basketball, football, baseball and race car driving, will stop Friday through Sunday at Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free.
