KC Symphony to perform at zoo
Kansas City, Mo. ï¿½ The Kansas City Symphony will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Tropical Asia Field in the Kansas City Zoo and at 7 p.m. Monday at Theater in the Park, 17501 Midland Drive, Shawnee.
Admission is free at the zoo after 5 p.m. Before 5 p.m., admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-11 and free for children under 3. Tickets at Theater in Park are $3 per person and free for children 3 and under.

Silver Dollar City plans fall festival
Branson, Mo. ï¿½ Silver Dollar City's "Festival of America" will be Sept. 7 through Oct. 28.
Events include "Portraits of America," an exhibit of Saturday Evening Post covers and prints by Norman Rockwell; demonstrations by stained glass, pottery, fabric weaving, barnwood birdhouses, candle, rope basket and copper and pewter sculpture craftsmen; "Heart and Hands: Musical Instrument Makers of America," an exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution; and "Wings Over America," an exhibit of eagles and birds of prey.
Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays.
