Janice Perry, an internationally acclaimed performance artist, will bring her solo show, "Holy Sh*t! Stories from Heaven and Hell," to Kansas University as part of the department of theater and film's Third Annual Labor Day Festival.
The piece will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Inge Theatre in Murphy Hall.
Perry uses the traditional comedic tools of social satire and parody to deconstruct and reinvent mythic figures, such as Aphrodite, Joan of Arc, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tonto and the Lone Ranger. She mixes inventive monologues, playful costumes, wild gestures, soaring vocals, text, physical comedy, mime and American vaudeville in her hilarious shows.
She has performed in the United States, England, Germany and the Netherlands and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows.
Ticket prices are $6 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults. To reserve tickets, call the Murphy Hall Box Office, 864-3982. Seating is limited.
