Lawrence Art Guild show reflects diversity of its members

Thursday, July 6, 2000

Nearly 40 Lawrence Art Guild members are displaying their works in its all-member show running through July 31 at Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. More people than usual are expected to view the works during its artists' reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

"It happens to fall on a First Fridays (gallery walk) night," said Laurie Culling, a LAG member who is coordinating the exhibit for the library.

The exhibit will cover the walls in the library's entrances, gallery and lower level, as well as fill its display cases. Most of the works are for sale.

"A lot of the artists have name recognition and are well-known artists," she said. " " The artists of Lawrence are our natural resource."
