MTV's fall lineup includes new reality shows

— MTV revealed its fall development slate for music and original programming Tuesday, which includes plans for four new series and five pilots.

The new shows include "Becoming," a series picked up for 10 episodes where fans get to mimic their favorite stars by wearing their clothes, dancing their moves and shooting a copy of one of their videos; "Who Knows the Band?," a half-hour game show where contestants identify friends of MTV's latest and greatest music stars; "Flipped," a reality show directed by Arnold Shapiro ("Scared Straight," "Big Brother") that focuses on the potentially dangerous consequences of risky teen behavior; and "Kidnapped," a reality game show that tests the friendships between four friends by kidnapping one of the group.

The shows that have been greenlit for pilot include "Filmography," a "Behind the Music" told by fans; "The Dustin and Justin Show," executive produced by Todd Phillips ("Road Trip"), about two guys who poke fun at celebrities while interviewing them at movie junkets and awards shows; "New Girl," in which a seemingly innocent girl is transferred to a New England prep school where she proceeds to ingeniously wrap everyone around her little finger; "Varsity Blues," a series based on the film starring James Van der Beek ("Dawson's Creek"); and "Wetsuit," created by Jim Cooper and Erik Feig ("I Know What You Did Last Summer"), a scripted series about a group of kids who grew up in a small surfing town.

Other programs still in development include:

"Your Video Show" wannabe rock stars and divas can submit their homemade videos of their own songs for the ultimate amateur home video contest.

"Tales From the Road" a half-hour show which takes a look at the sometimes funny, sad, outrageous and usually true stories of life on the road. The artists themselves tell their tales as MTV re-creates them through simulations.

"Bottoms Up" from director-producer Francis Ford Coppola, the project is based on the true story of three brothers and their mother who started a club in their basement.

"Living Dolls" a reality relationship show that uses state-of-the-art technology to help viewers create a computer vision of their dream dates. The show will then take those images and try to find real-life versions of them.

"Music Mogul" teams of young music industry wannabes compete with each other under the watchful and manipulative eye of a music exec to help break new artists. The reward: a big time music industry gig goes to one lucky contestant.

"Plus One" a fictionalized account of Michael Stipe and REM's rise to rock-and-roll success.

"Rock Chik" the real-life chronicles of rock 'n' roll groupie Michelle Dupont.

"Untitled" Paula Abdul plays a former Dallas Cowboy cheerleader who starts her life over again when she decides to head up a high school girl's cheerleading squad. The series will be set to current chart toppers and will be choreographed by Abdul.
