'West Wing' viewers earn highest TV audience income
NBC's political drama "The West Wing" has the wealthiest audience of any prime-time television network show, according to a new report. It's the only program whose viewers have an average household income of $70,000 or more, said the analysis by TN Media, a New York ad buying agency. That's a key point for advertisers, who are usually anxious to reach an affluent audience.
"ER," "Frasier," "The Practice," "NYPD Blue," and "60 Minutes" are among the shows where the audiences have a higher-than-average income, the report said. Among the shows with the poorest audience, in the $30,000 to $40,000 range, is the "WWF Smackdown!" on UPN.

Teens to write book reports for stunt that went wrong
A judge ordered four teen-agers to read classics and write book reports for their "incredibly dangerous" stunt of trying to jump over a moving car. Police in Independence said the MTV show "Jackass" inspired the teens, but the cable music channel said it has never aired a stunt in which someone gets hit by a car. The boys, ages 16 and 17, maintained they were copying no one.
Kenton District Court Judge Martin Sheehan on Wednesday ordered the boys to read 12 classics each and turn in a book report every two weeks. He said that for six months, the only television shows they may watch are nightly news programs.
On April 23, a 16-year-old boy broke his leg and ankle trying to jump over a car that his friend was driving.
