Traffic is snarled in the wake of an overturned semi truck just east of the East Lawrence exit of the Kansas Turnpike. This semi, driven by Douglas M. Lindstrom, 43, Salina, broke through the concrete barrier about a mile east of the East Lawrence exchange. Lindstrom was westbound on the turnpike around 5:15 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle passed him, then re-entered his lane. He swerved to miss the vehicle and apparently lost control on the wet roadway, the Kansas Turnpike Authority said. Lindstrom received minor injuries but was not treated. The accident slowed traffic to a crawl for up to four miles while crews worked to remove the truck.
