Memphis, Tenn. Shemekia Copeland, daughter of blues great Johnny Copeland, was a double winner Thursday night at the 22nd annual W.C. Handy Blues Awards.
Copeland won awards for best contemporary female artist and blues album for "Wicked."
A song from her album, "It's 2 a.m." won blues song of the year for Rick Vito.
B.B. King, who got his professional start in Memphis as the Beale Street Blues Boy, won for best blues entertainer for the third time.
King and Eric Clapton also shared a Handy, as the awards are called, for contemporary blues album, "Riding with the King."
