Drugs used first to save Limbaugh's hearing

Doctors treating Rush Limbaugh said Thursday they will try a combination of drugs for up to two months before deciding whether to implant an electronic device in his ear in hopes of saving what is left of his hearing.

The device, a cochlear implant, creates an electronic signal and sends it to the brain.

Limbaugh, 50, surprised his listeners this week by disclosing that he has gone almost completely deaf.

Kidman dating again

While Tom Cruise didn't even wait until his divorce was final to parade actress Penelope Cruz around town, his self-described "devastated" ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, has been slower to find romance.

But she has found it in the somewhat unlikely person of Adam Duritz, the dreadlocked lead singer of Counting Crows, reports Mr. Showbiz.

No details on how the two met or how long they've been an item.

Bert appears on posters of terrorist suspect

Will the beloved "Sesame Street" character Bert be the next name added to the FBI's list of most-wanted terrorists? This week, an angry-looking Bert shared space with Osama bin Laden on posters wielded by anti-American demonstrators during violent protests in Bangladesh. Reuters and the Associated Press, which are distributing the photos, say the images are not doctored.

The use of Bert's image apparently taken from a parody Web site has "Sesame Street" executives fuming. "We're outraged that our characters would be used in this unfortunate and distasteful manner," a spokesman said. "The people responsible for this should be ashamed."

The protest poster is a collage of eight bin Ladens.

Azad Products, maker of the poster, said it took images from e-mails and the Internet and "did not give the pictures a second look" until the AP pointed them out.
