A view few residents of or visitors to Lawrence ever get to appreciate is this vista created from atop Lawrence's city hall.
In this 360-degree panorama you can see down Sixth Street to the west, Massachusetts Street to the south, towards the Riverfront complex to the east and north across the Kansas River to North Lawrence.
The Quicktime plug-in is required to view this image, if you don't have it you can download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/.
Normally these panoramas are created using a camera mounted on a tripod from a single, fixed position. In this case, in order to avoid rooftop obstructions such as air-conditioning equipment this panorama was shot from each of the four-corners of the rooftop and stitched together on a computer. This explains the optical anomalies that are present.
This view from city hall was shot 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
