Eleanor Roosevelt she isn't
Pasadena, Calif. Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly says Paula Zahn was just being politically correct when she expressed offense at a CNN promotion that described her as "sexy."
"If Paula Zahn doesn't think she's there partially because she's a good-looking babe, then she's in never-never land," the talk show host told reporters during the weekend.
A week ago, CNN ran a promotional ad describing the morning news anchor as provocative, smart and "just a little sexy."
CNN management quickly yanked it and admitted it was a mistake to describe a journalist as "sexy." Zahn said the promotion offended her.
O'Reilly said that Zahn who left Fox News Channel in September to join CNN is an excellent broadcaster, "but Eleanor Roosevelt is not going to be anchoring your weekend news, OK?"
What's really important
Pasadena, Calif. Barbara Walters is known for competing ferociously for big interviews, but she said that's changed since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"Do I want to do the good stories? Yes," she said on Sunday. "Do I die if I don't get them? ... No, I don't. And it's not that I care less about the program, but it just isn't that important to me. And since Sept. 11, it is much less important to me."
She's slowly getting back into celebrity interviews, preparing a piece on singer Celine Dion. She also will do her annual interview show with actors before the Academy Awards.
Adam Ant arrested
London Adam Ant, the punk-turned-pop musician who scored hits in the 1980s, faces assault and weapons charges after a scuffle in a London pub, police said Monday.
The 47-year-old singer, whose real name is Stuart Goddard, was arrested Saturday night at the Prince of Wales pub in north London.
He was charged with possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and with criminal damage and assault.
The Sun tabloid reported that Ant threatened to open fire when he was refused entrance to a private party.
Ant, the former leader of the new wave group Adam and the Ants, had solo hits including "Goody Two Shoes" and "Strip." He's scheduled to headline a 1980s nostalgia tour this spring.
You really can do both
Los Angeles Life is making rocker Steven Tyler pinch himself these days.
With his band, Aerosmith, receiving four Grammy nominations, including best rock album, and his daughter, Liv Tyler, co-starring in the box-office hit "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," he is thrilled.
"I told my dad, 'When I grow up, I want to be a (rock star),' and he said, 'I don't think you can do both."'
