Poet's showcase

Fall

By Beverly Boyd

Late blooming flowers

misted with frost

keep on and on.

Red is still red

and gold gold.

They bend or stand tall.

One day their petals will blow

loose in the wind,

touching my heart

with remembered hours

of a season passed,

fragments that move

into the cycle of things

from the ruin of flowers.
