Hard Rock Vault holds rock 'n' roll history

— Michael Jackson's red "Thriller" jacket, Prince's "Purple Rain" coat, Madonna's "Boy Toy" wedding dress and David Bowie's zebra-striped "Ziggy Stardust" getup are a part of rock 'n' roll lore as much as their music.

These garments are now stored at the new Hard Rock Vault in Orlando, Fla. The Vault is a 17,000-square-foot memorabilia attraction put together by Hard Rock Cafe International.

The Hard Rock Vault also has pieces of modern history, including costumes and signature styles from artists nominated this year for Grammy awards. Among the items hanging in the Vault's "Dressing Room" are Gwen Stefani's outfit from the cover of the "Tragic Kingdom" album, Scott Stapp's washed-out leather pants from the water-filled shoot for Creed's "My Sacrifice" video, and Bono's faux snakeskin suit from the Zoo TV tour.
