Tonight at the Lawrence Arts Center, Charlotte the spider spins her web and Wilbur the pig avoids being turned into pork chops when Summer Youth Theatre stages "Charlotte's Web." The show continues tomorrow and is followed next week by the musical "Funny Girl."
On the hill, Kansas University theater students tonight open the Rodger's and Hammerstein musical revue "A Grand Night for Singing." No plot here, just a series of the theater duo's best-loved songs strung into an intense musical offering.
And speaking of musical offerings, the Lawrence City Band on Wednesday will play its fourth concert of the summer season. The performance is built around the theme "Shall We Dance?"
