Heartland Theatre to stage 'Radio Gals'

Kansas City, Mo. -- The American Heartland Theatre in Crown Center will present "Radio Gals" July 5-Aug. 24.

The play is a musical comedy, featuring banjo, saxophone, fiddle, autoharp, piano and more. Lori Blalock, Debra Bluford, Dean Vivian and Anthony Edwards star in the play.

The show, set in the 1920s, relives the glory days of early radio as Hazel Hunt and her "all-girl" band, The Hazelnuts, create the radio station WGAL, much to the chagrin of Federal Radio Inspector O.B. Abbott, who is hellbent on shutting down the station down.

"Radio Gals" will have performances Tuesdays through Sundays. Tickets range from $15 to $29.
