University Theatre sale to help build third stage
Looking to buy -- or get rid of -- something quirky?
The University Theatre is cleaning out its costume shop and prop storage and holding a huge garage sale to benefit Stage Too!
If you have items to donate, bring them to Murphy Hall by May 29. The theater encourages students who are graduating or moving away from Lawrence to donate unwanted items.
The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 31 on the circle drive in front of Murphy Hall, 15th Street and Naismith Drive.
Stage Too! is the name of a third stage that University Theatre director John Staniunas is raising money to build in Murphy Hall. The department is trying to raise $500,000 for risers, platforms, a stage and seating that would turn the stage at Crafton-Preyer Theatre into a theater of its own.
