Spooky fun abounds in Lawrence

Lawrence's traditional Beggars' Night trick-or-treating is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today, but other events geared more to adult revelers will go into the night.

â Downtown Lawrence Inc. is sponsoring trick-or-treat from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

â Independence Inc. will sponsor a party for all ages with a haunted room, games and dancing. The party will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 2001 Haskell Ave.

â The Lawrence Arts Center will have a haunted house, carnival games, crafts and a scary tale theater for preschoolers to sixth-graders, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 940 N.H.

â The Lawrence High School Key Club will collect canned goods, not treats, in area neighborhoods from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Collected items will be donated to local food pantries.

â For those age 21 and older, the Eldridge Hotel plans a costume ball from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Crystal Room of the hotel, 701 Mass.
