Johannesburg, South Africa -- Oscar winner Charlize Theron was reduced to tears Thursday when former President Nelson Mandela praised her for putting South Africa on the map.

"I love you so much," the actress said during an emotional meeting at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg.

Theron, who won a best-actress Oscar for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in "Monster," grew up in the small South African town of Benoni.

Theron told Mandela he was an inspiration to her and many others.

Mandela returned the compliment.

Judge: R. Kelly pics illegally seized

Bartow, Fla. -- Accused child pornographer R. Kelly got another break in his case Thursday as Circuit Court Judge Dennis Maloney ruled in Florida that police illegally seized photographs that allegedly show the R&B; singer having sex with an underage girl when they searched his Davenport, Fla., home during a drug raid in June 2002.

The judge agreed with Kelly's lawyers that the Polk County sheriff's detectives did not have enough evidence to justify a search of the home.

Florida prosecutors still may appeal. If they don't, they'll have to drop 12 counts of child pornography against Kelly, 37.
