Yeah, we're looking for Lawrence gamers who can write well.

The Video Games section of lawrence.com is looking for gamers. Well, not just gamers, but gamers who can write well and live in Lawrence.

If you think you have what it takes to write knowledgeable video game reviews, drop us a line. Actually, drop us two sample video game reviews. Both must be of video games released in the past year. For one review, keep it between 300-500 words. For the second, keep it between 1100-1700 words.

It is imperative that you touch on all aspects of the game including presentation, gameplay, graphics, sound and your overall feel. Also include your grades for the game at the end of the review like we do. "First Play" is your initial reaction and experience. "Last Play" is the lasting appeal of replay value of a game. "Gameplay" is the underlying control and originality of how the game actually plays. Your "Overall" score is heavily weighted on the "Gameplay" grade. The "Graphics" and "Sound" grades are self-explanatory.

Send the two reviews with your name, phone number, what systems you own (we concentrate heavily on console games) and why you think you'd be a great reviewer to gamer@lawrence.com.

We will choose our new reviewers by the end of December. Perks include free games. You review 'em, you keep 'em!
