Mystery to be staged aboard Midland Railway

— A cursed diamond causes a lot of trouble for a man, his wife and a handful of hapless detectives in "The Curse of the Hopeless Diamond."

Passengers aboard the Midland Railway's Mystery Trains were tasked this weekend with solving the mystery. The show continues at 1:30 p.m. today, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

The play, presented by Baldwin City Community Theatre, begins at Baldwin's Santa Fe Depot, 1515 W. High, and continues on the train, which will make a round trip between Baldwin and Ottawa.

As the mystery unfolds, the passengers will look for clues in an effort to be the first to solve the mystery and win a prize.

Tickets are $15 and can be bought in advance by calling (785) 594-7440. Tickets also will be on sale at the depot, limited to available seats, prior to each departure. Those with advance tickets should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show time to check in and be ready for preboarding activities. Those buying tickets at the door should arrive at least a half hour before showtime.
