Fifty people have been treated for minor problems

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical Capt. Nathan Stover said today that 50 people had been treated for minor injuries by medical personnel staffing the Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival.

A dozen people had been transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, but no one was reported to be in critical condition.

The nature of the injuries varied - one person fell off a bike, a girl cut her hand on a broken glo-stick, while at least one patient appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Some heat-related health conditions had been reported; officials were expecting more as the day progresses.
