Prairie Sculptor League offering workshop

Two workshops will be offered in May for beginning and advanced sculptors to hone their skills.

The Prairie Sculptor League has scheduled sessions from May 5 to May 7 and from May 19 to May 21. The workshops will be in Pleasant Grove, 10 miles south of Lawrence on Highway 59.

Instructors will include Elden Tefft, founder of the International Sculpture Center and the sculpture program at Kansas University, as well as longtime sculptors Mary Weisert, Myles Schachter, Karl Ramberg and Mark Sampsel.

The nonprofit workshops cost $109 for intermediate and advanced registrants who bring their own chisels and $159 for beginners, for whom tools are provided. The registration deadline is April 17.
