The mysterious disappearance of 17-year-old Randy Leach after he attended a pre-graduation party in 1988 in Linwood is the subject of "Leaves of Words," a new play by Kansas University graduate student Tim Macy. English Alternative Theatre will stage the play at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Arts Center.

Kansas City native Robert Altman learned the technical aspects of filmmaking in his hometown and then headed off to Hollywood to direct Alfred Hitchcock's television show. His first big screen success came in 1970 with "MASH," which kicks off the Lawrence Public Library's Robert Altman film series at 7 tonight. The series continues on Fridays throughout the month.

Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company, the official national folk dance company of the Philippines, blends the influences of native islanders, Chinese, Spanish and Islamic traditions to portray their country's folk dance traditions. The troupe performs at 7:30 tonight at the Lied Center.
