Style Scout: Kendra Oberzan
Occupation and/or major: Volleyball coach at Ottawa University
Time in Lawrence: 10 years
What were you doing when scouted? Eating blueberries at the Farmer's Market.
Favorite clothing store? I have long legs, so places that have pants in short, average and long. Like Gap.
Other stores you frequent? TJ Maxx, the grocery store, Hobby Lobby, Pier 1, Target.
How would you describe your style? Simple. I like more classic styles. Not too trendy - things I can keep for a long time.
Favorite thing for this season? I like that tank tops are getting longer. For a few years you couldn't find anything that covered your stomach.
Least favorite trend right now? I don't like gaucho pants on me. But on some people they look cute.
Where do you get your haircut? I usually get my hair cut once a year, so it varies.
Favorite coffee shop in Lawrence? Milton's.
Favorite bar shop or bar in Lawrence? I'm not a bar person.
Is there anything you'd like to see more of in Lawrence? I really like Lawrence the way it is, that it's not overly commercialized. You know, I'm from Ottawa.
Style Scout: Chris Millspaugh
Occupation and/or major: Graphic designer
Time in Lawrence: 14 years
Where are you headed right now? Nowhere. Do you have any ideas?
Favorite clothing store? Randall's Formal Wear.
Other stores you frequent? Z's, to get coffee.
How would you describe your style? What's lying on the floor. Comfortable. I like polyester pants because they don't wrinkle.
Favorite thing for this season? Man bags. ("Have you seen the Seinfeld episode?") Yeah. "It's not a purse!"
Least favorite trend right now? Collars turned up. Don't pop it. I did that in junior high, and I don't want to see it again.
Where do you get your haircut? When I do, Roxanne at Static.
Favorite coffee shop in Lawrence? Z's
Favorite bar shop or bar in Lawrence? The Replay's patio.
Is there anything you'd like to see more of in Lawrence? Lawrence is perfect.
