How do you save money?

“Saving money is a little bit of a problem for me. I find that I like to splurge on fun, and fun tends to take precedence over saving. I save a vast majority of my money by turning off my lights to keep my bills down. I need to start eating in a little more to save money. I walk as much as possible and drive a fairly fuel-efficient vehicle. The biggest way I save money is by investing in my friends’ companies that I think have the capability to do great things. I’m playin’ the markets. I have a painting company, Colorsmith Painting, and I buy and redo homes. My newest pursuit is online businesses, one of which will take the energy usage of everyday appliances—washers, dryers, light bulbs, etc.—and it will be a database where an individual can get on and inventory their home and determine how much energy you’re using. You can then compare it to more efficient appliances on the market and find out how much you can save. We’ll start with North America, then we’ll spread out and conquer the world!”

“Recently I’ve been splurging on electronics. I just got a Mac and there are lots of fun little devices that go with the Mac, like the Airport. My favorite place to eat out is India Palace, and I love the lamb korma. I try to save money so I can travel—there’s nothing that will broaden your horizons more than becoming a worldly person. I’m going to Mount Rainier at the end of July to go backpacking. I also like to buy art. I just bought a temple rubbing of the god Shiva at a garage sale for $5. I’m not sure from which temple—the garage sale didn’t have a listing.”
