Namco Museum Virtual Arcade (360)

Namco Museum is a bit of an interesting production choice for the company. After all, their target market is arcade gamers with a taste for nostalgia. Why is this a problem? Because many of the games included on this disc have already been released on Xbox Live Arcade, and their demographic has likely already paid for and download them. Why exactly would they want to purchase them again on a disc?

Despite the head-scratching nature of this compilation, there's no denying that there's plenty of classic gaming to be found here. Old-school quarter munchers like Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position, Galaxian, and Dig-Dug are all included (along with their sequels). On top of this, Virtual Museum includes the revamped versions of these games that were XBLA exclusive. Pac-Man Championship Edition is still as excellent as ever, and there's lots of fun to be had with Galaga Legions. Unfortunately, you'll have to navigate to the Xbox Live Arcade section of the menu every time you want to access these games. Why they're not included on the disc is beyond me.

There may be some confusing elements to the overall presentation of this package, but what's really important are the games. Thankfully, there's a lot of them, and a good chunk of them are worth your time.

Overall: 7.3
