Save & Splurge

How do you save money?

"I try to walk to as many places as I can, which saves on gas money. If you do decide to drive, plot out the trips so you can make multiple stops in one drive. I try to eat in as often as I can and eat my roommates' food. What I do is I usually buy Wheat Fields bread, let my roommates eat all of it, then-as a trade off-eat their food. 'Well, you ate my Wheat Fields bread so I should eat all of your expensive vegetables from the Merc.' Conning people is the number one way to save money. I also buy a lot of store brand food and medication, which might explain my totally f*cked up immune system, but it's cheaper that way. I actually have really great health insurance, but I still like buying the cheap stuff."

How do you splurge?

"On good alcohol. I no longer drink well alcohol. The day I got a full time job was the day I decided not to drink wells any more, because they're disgusting and they make you feel really crappy the next day. I spend a lot of money on music, like records and CDs. I don't shop for clothes that often, but when I do it's usually for something that will last a few years so I don't have to buy it again, so I splurge on something more expensive that will save me in the long run. I'm a horrible shopper and don't like going to stores. I like to buy stuff online while I'm working. I also spend a lot of money on buying people drinks. I have to pay my friends to be around me."
