Save & Splurge

How do you save money?
“From my paycheck, I move a set amount over into an account I don’t have access to on a daily basis. The rest that I need to live on I keep in an account I do have access to on a daily basis. So far as cutting spending, coupons are definitely a plus. You can really save a good $10 at the grocery store—it’s kind of tedious to find them, but I would say coupons are the number one source of saving. You have to, have to, have to ride your bike more. Less car, more bike. It saves you tons on gas money. I have a car, but I’m going to switch to a hybrid. There will be temptation to drive the hybrid more than ride my bike, but I’ll say, ‘No!’ Also, most of my clothing is thrift or handmade.”
How do you splurge?
“I don’t splurge money. I’m not joking. Although I will treat myself to a massage once a month—it’s like heaven. You can’t even describe a massage, it’s that amazing. They’re worth every penny.”
