Name: Jason Barr
Age: 27
Sign: Virgo, baby
Hometown: Independence, MO
Time in lawrence: I've lived here since 2001.
Occupation: Student, Printmaker, and DJ
What were you doing when scouted: I was going to Mirth to get some vegetarian biscuits and gravy.
Favorite places: Wildman Vintage, KU's printmaking lab, Love Garden, Taproom, DotDotDot gallery, The Wonder Fair and the Casbah Market, and the Merc.
How would you describe your style: Tom King once described my style as Backwoods chic, so I'm going with that.
Where do you get your hair cut: Elise Barr, my life partner, cuts it.
Favorite trends: Hot/neon colored flannel shirts are a must. I also like moccasins transform any outfit. For women, I like short hair...the whole punk/pixie look.
Least favorite trends: For sure, those Keffiyeh scarves that everyone is wearing. Also, leggings with nothing else, that's pretty ridiculous. Overweight people wearing spandex from American Apparel. Their clothes tend to only look good on the people who model for them.
Tattoos/piercings: I have a catfish on my chest which is for my father-in-law that passed away.
Favorite coffee shop: I'd say the Bourgeois Pig, because it's cheap and the tennants are very attractive.
Favorite bar: The Taproom, first of all, because of the good peeps there. Everybody there knows my name, like 'Cheers', and there's less hecklers than other bars. It's also next to the Sandbar, so you can see which cougars the frat boys go home with. I also like the Replay.
What would you like to see more of in Lawrence: More red hair and more manly & hairy men. Definitely more cool parents-- we need an army of cool children to take over the world someday. I'd like to see more print-makers and more graffiti and street art.
What would you like to see less of: Less complaining and more celebrating about the Obama victory....get over it, you lost...boo hoo! I'd also like to see less single track gear bikes and less people wearing glasses without needing a prescription.
Who are your fashion influences: Lumberjacks, the Appalachian Mountains, and firemen.
People say I look like: When I was a kid, people said I looked like Ron Howard when he played Opie on 'The Andy Griffith Show'.
Tell us a secret: In my bag right now I have a copy of Cocoon: The Return with Steve Guttenberg and Wilford Brimley, and a copy of Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom, which could not be more opposite.
PRICE OF CLOTHING:
shoes: Wallaby mocassins, just like Ghostface. Purchased at Arensberg's 2 years ago for $110
jeans: Levis 517s, from the Salvation Army, 1 year ago for $6
jacket: 1st Down brand, it was left in my car over 5 years ago, free
bandana: Antique Mall, 4 months ago for $2
sunglasses: Wildman Vintage, no brand, on sale for $5
baby: Charlotte Sunflower, 19 months old
shirt: Wildman Vintage, 1 month ago for $8

Dude, Jason, that jacket is my Dad's that Aaron Weatherford stole from me and left in your car 5 years ago. I don't want it back or anything, just don't trash it. I have lots of memories of my dad in that jacket. We called it his 'Scott Baio' jacket. ---w dave

@WDave. Thanks for letting me know Dave. I was seriously about to strip my coat off, pee on it and then burn it. But thanks to your plea for me to not "trash it," I won't. Love Jason
