Team Sarah, an online community of female supporters of Gov. Sarah Palin, launched a last minute campaign to derail the candidacy of Kathleen Sebelius for the secretary post at the Department of Health and Human Services. Many conservatives, including Palin's followers, oppose Sebelius on the grounds of her support for reproductive rights. Despite Team Sarah's online petition urging its members to "flood the phone lines" of Congress, Sebelius easily won Senate committee approval today and might have a final vote within the week.
*...The rivalry between the Sebelius and Palin camps was further exacerbated when it was revealed that Sebelius' son was somehow pregnant with Levi Johnston's baby.
Asked if they prefer out of wedlock teenage pregnancy—not to mention forced marriage into a brood of hillbilly heroin dealers out of political convenience—over family planning, a spokesperson for Team Sarah responded, "You betcha!"
Sarah Palin herself could not be reached for comment as she was busy hunting George Tiller with a high-powered sniper rifle from a helicopter.
