Xavier Henry (23), of Athletes First, drives the lane against Kansas City Pump N Run's Jarod McDaniel. Henry, son of former KU player Carl Henry, played in the Jayhawk Invitational at Allen Fieldhouse in this 2007 file photo.

Touted basketball recruit Xavier Henry announced Thursday morning that he is going to play basketball at KU next season. Henry is a 6-foot-6 guard and is the country’s No. 8-rated high school basketball senior (according to rivals.com). He had originally selected Memphis but opted out of that commitment after Memphis coach John Calipari left to coach at Kentucky.

That whole section of the country smells like stale grits and dead opossum. And everybody drinks sweet tea down there, which is totally gross." Sherron Collins, feeling threatened and neglected by all the attention Henry is receiving, peed on Lew Perkins' slippers and tore up his curtains.
