How do you save money?

"I drink PBR on the regular. Also, when you're working, you're not spending money, so I work a lot. Another benefit is that the more jobs you have, and the more people you know, the more discounts you get. I don't shop, either. Shopping is for hipsters. When all of the rich college students move out, they leave things in the alley. The best time to go is right after finals and the leases expire, typically June 31st or July 31st. I love getting furniture from the alley. If I don't keep it for myself, I sell it on Craigslist. Auctions are also lovely. There's an auction house in Ottawa that I can't deny. My heart flutters for that place. I got a vintage 1960's couch there for $150. It was a hot item. All the grandpas wanted it real bad. Garage sales are another great way to save. It's a gut response thing—while you're driving by a garage sale, if you don't feel it in your gut, don't stop. I've never got more compliments than on a little gold necklace I bought at a garage sale for 50 cents."

How do you splurge?

"I've spent this last year saving up so I can live on Mass. Street. I just signed a lease on a loft. Now I can bike and walk everywhere."
