Attention Nerds: Lawrence.com needs video game reviewers

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

As we approach the insanity of the holiday game rush, Lawrence.com is in need of writers with a solid knowledge of video games to review the dozens of games we get in every month. While there's probably hundreds of gamers in the Lawrence area that would love to get free games, we need to bring on those who are unbiased, have a long history with gaming, and (most importantly), are good writers. To be considered as a reviewer for Lawrence.com, follow these instructions:

• Write two reviews for games that were released in 2009. They should be between 600 and 2,000 words.
• One should be a high-profile title like inFamous or RE5, and the other should be a smaller, lesser-known title.
• Make sure to cover all applicable aspects of the game—gameplay, controls, graphics, replay value, multiplayer, etc.

You'll be given more consideration if you have every major console and portable, as games for all systems will need to be reviewed. Do not apply if you're in any way a biased gamer, as every title needs to be given a fair shake regardless of console. Email a brief bio, a list of the current consoles you own, your five favorite games of all-time, and your writing samples to gamer [at] lawrence [dot] com for consideration.
