Federal prosecutors announced yesterday that a 22-year-old Leawood man blew up a fiberglass Jayhawks On Parade statue that was stolen in August 2007. As well as the Jayhawk statue, Michael Vanlerberg admitted to explosions that destroyed a mailbox and damaged three cars. Vanlerberg pleaded guilty to one count of using explosives.*...Federal investigators later admitted they didn't really have to torture and kill seven witnesses to find Vanlerbert, it's just that they're really big fans of "24."
