Little Boy Sings "Folsom Prison Blues"

Daily Dose

He's 5 and already more exciting than Andrew Bird.

Here's one more check mark in the "Get My Tubes Untied" column. It doesn't come anywhere close to the avalanche of check marks in the "Keep My Tubes Knotted Up Tighter Than A Smack Addicts Tie Off" column, but it's notable none the less.

This is 5 year old Wesley, and he destroys Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." And I mean "destroys" in that "no one besides Johnny Cash and maybe not even Johnny Cash could perform this song better" kind of way. The way he sings "That's what tortures me" as "That's what toe-chews me" absolutely toe-chews me. And before you ask, yes, I'm sure it's a boy.

A quick note: If anyone makes a shred video of this kid, there's a special circle of hell reserved for you right next the one filled with suicide bombers and TMZ reporters.

And if you liked that, here's a whole slew of videos of Wesley and his classmates from Heartwood Guitar Instruction up in Seattle.

We're naming our baby Johnny, after Mr. Cash. I can only dream that one day he'll be able to pluck a string and belt out Ring of Fire in similar fashion.

Well, this is nifty...Wesley's guitar teacher in Seattle, Rob, somehow found this post and just contacted me via e-mail. He thanked me for the attention and wanted to point out that he has a whole stable of pint sized prodigies. Here's a link to even more videos of his adorable axe virtuosos:
