Eric Dobbins
Age: 27.
Sign: Gemini.
Hometown: Lawrence.
Occupation: Wonder Fair gallery owner/operator, president of Far Out! Catering, founding member of Asteroid Head Art Club, and guitar player for The California Craisins.
What were you doing when scouted: Hanging out at the Casbah Market.
How would you describe your style: Intensely mellow and right on the beat.
What are you favorite fashion trends: Fun for everyone, Canadian psychedelia, eating patties and just enjoying it.
What are your least favorite fashion trends: Expensive, too dirty, gunshot wounds, and throw up.
What would you like to see more of in Lawrence: I'd like to see more support of arts and culture, more skinny dipping and people dancing in the streets.
What would you like to see less of in Lawrence: Classic Lawrence business ventures closing their doors, mosquitoes and people being weirded out by things.
Who are your fashion influences: My style is influenced by cartoons, Worlds of Fun, energy fields, and flower patches.
What do you think about Lawrence's art scene: The scene is great. There are a lot of amazing, talented, unique people doing beautiful stuff, but the market is very limited. As a gallery owner, I've had to really stay tuned and adapt.
What is Asteroid Head Art Club? It's a futuristic art club from the past. We meet once a week at the North Lawrence Tennis Club and plan art shows, release zines, and create happenings and gatherings. We give the kids something to be excited about.
Tell us a secret: I built a crows nest at the top of a tree in my backyard that overlooks the entire town of Lawrence. There you'll find a secret message carved with a knife that will tell your future.
Shoes: Tom's, purchased online 2 weeks ago for $40.
Shorts: They used to be a pair of jeans that my brother gave me. I've had them for about 2 years, and they've been shorts for about 2 days.
T-shirt: Hand-dyed Counselor edition Asteroid Head summer camp t-shirt. I've had it for about a month, and it is priceless.
Jacket: OP rainbow blaster, it was a gift from my girlfriend Casey. I've had it for about 2 years.
Belt: Casey bought it at the McDonald Observatory about 2 months ago.
Sunglasses: Air Blaster, purchased in Montana 2 months ago for $18.
