Irie All the Time: An interview with The Irietions
Lawrence reggae band The Irietions is already deeply ingrained in the local music community after only a year-and-a-half on the scene. Members Brian Tiemeyer and Evan McGuire visited us to share some Irie new tunes and their thoughts on legalization, local reggae, and gettin' the hell outta Dodge (City).
Next time you wanna punch somebody in the face or post a nasty comment on a message board, consider popping in an Irietions (pronounced eye-ray-shuns) disc instead. It's hard to stay heated when a band brings such a mellow vibe to the table, singing about herbs and positivity with the conviction of Jamaican shamans.
Perhaps it's their service-industry jobs that inspire these five locals to blaze something smoother after-hours. They're already deeply ingrained in the local music community after only a year-and-a-half on the scene. Members Brian Tiemeyer and Evan McGuire visited us to share some Irie new tunes and their thoughts on legalization, local reggae, and gettin' the hell outta Dodge (City).
