Last November, The Gaslight Tavern in north Lawrence hosted its last show ever with Split Lip Rayfield playing the tiny bar off into the great abyss of history.

The Gaslight will re-open its doors on July 3, when it will presumably be overrun by the townies, hippies, cavaliers, and other hangers-out who have spent the last eight months missing one of town's preferred joints. It will retain its character as an off-the-beaten-path destination for folksy live music and intimate conversations, hosting shows on the outdoor patio and offering up $2.50 domestic bottles to loosen the air.

New bar manager Outlaw Jake took a break from his busy renovating schedule to discuss the new and improved Gaslight. Sorry to say that any vibe or feeling from the old gaslight is long gone from the new Gaslight,they dont even have PBR in a fucking can, they should take down all the corporat beer adds, get rid of the fuckin' T.V. get some real bands in there or change the name because it is not the gaslight anymore.
