Daily Dose

This is a sampling of the great online series, Breakfast at Sulimay's. The premise is simple—three crotchety geriatrics from Philly review modern music. I don't know what this says about me, but I tend to agree with every verdict they hand down. It's like Pitchfork with a plastic hip. Damn whipper punkers and their bleepity blopity jazzbo noise! On top of their impeccable taste, there's a perspective in their analysis that you just won't find in Spin.

On the Doves: "It's not Rascal Flatts, but it's pretty good."

On Eminem: "He reminds me of Gilbert and Sullivan."

On Bat for Lashes: "It felt like a massage."

Here now are Anne, Bill, and Joe from "Breakfast at Sulimay's."

Dan Deacon and the Doves

Eminem and Bat for Lashes

Joung Jeezy and Animal Collective

Uh, speaking of "couple use some judicious editing" ... brilliant premise, but that first clip at 5min felt like 15

Damn kids and your need for quick fixes and nitro-injected gratification! Bunch of zero attention span hopheads! Lay off the Mary Jane, you rascally squirrel!

Seriously, since when is five minutes such a death sentence? Go with the flow, baby...

I love that Ann's flipping the bird and mouthing "fuck you" in their intro!! That's hilarious. She seems to be the Simon Cowell of the bunch.

Speaking of squirrels, I bet we could speed the video up Alvin and the Chipmunks style and get through it just the same. Damn Joe sure is a slow-talker.
