Currently reading: “The Circle Trilogy" by Ted Dekker

“It’s kind of an epic science-y fiction trilogy that involves sadistic terrorists, the end of the world and even a romance. I love the book. Not only does the protagonist, Thomas Hunter, switch between two worlds, the present and what is referred to as 'the histories,' he alone holds the key to saving the world from total chaos, but everyone thinks he’s crazy. Sometimes I feel like I can relate.”

Book everyone should read: “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers

“It’s based on the biblical story of Hosea. In this fictional work, Michael Hosea falls in love with Angel, a woman who was sold into prostitution as a child. She distrusts all men, hates them even, because they use her only to satisfy their lust. God tells Hosea to marry Angel and love her unconditionally. Slowly, his love breaks down her walls and she finds safety and satisfaction with him. This is the story of a woman renewed. It gets to the heart of a lot of the pain, rejection and betrayal I believe a lot of women carry from past relationships. It isn’t about finding worth in a man, but rather healing wounds that you didn’t know you had. It helped me realize that building walls of invulnerability to try to protect myself from hurt wasn’t the answer. If nothing else, it’s a beautiful story of acceptance, freedom and salvation, regardless of past mistakes. It’s the kind of book you read over and over again. And I know several men who loved it too.”
