How would you describe your style? More dressy and uptown, but I definitely have my more casual days where I’m not so on-point. Urban style.

What are your current favorite fashion trends? Ankle boots, colored tights, costume jewelry, over-the-knee boots are on my fall shopping list. I like key pieces and accessories that enhance and modernize classic clothing.

What are your least favorite fashion trends? I don’t like things that are too busy and overwhelming. Some clothing designs remove the sophistication from what could be a great, subtle design.

What would you like to see more of in Lawrence? I prefer to shop locally, but I always have a hard time finding good shoes in town. More retail shoe stores and outlets would be appreciated by most fashion conscious Lawrencians.

What would you like to see less of in Lawrence? In light of Halloween, I’d like to see less every-day dressers (people sans costume) on such a lighthearted holiday. Halloween is a fun opportunity to dress outside your every-day style without worrying you’ll look out of place.

Who are your fashion influences? I think Marc Jacobs can do no wrong. He is the perfect example of a designer that takes risks and incorporates obscure design concepts into his aesthetic, but his pieces can still be cohesive and blend with more classic wardrobe staples.

Who is your celebrity style icon? Beyonce embraces her body and tailors her clothing to fit well—still managing to look feminine despite her incredible strength. Plus, who doesn’t want a metal glove?

People say I look like: Little Mermaid meets the Secretary from Mad Men—actress Christina Hendricks. I definitely have Ariel’s hair; however, my persona and self-confidence mimic Hendricks’ character combined with aspects of her put-together style.
