Conroy – also the lead singer for Another Holiday – attributes the disc’s origins to a period of anxiety and self-doubt, during which she spent most of her time inside writing music. She came out of it eventually, emerging with a reflective disc that you might just want to pop in next time you feel like a homebody. Evoking songwriters like Emily Haines and Jenny Lewis, Conroy pens slow-building numbers with twinkling keyboards and ornate arrangements. A team of local musicians including members of Cowboy Indian Bear and Hospital Ships helped Conroy flesh out the keenly produced 10-song disc.

Conroy and Landau stopped by to give us a first listen of “I Think I’ll Stay Inside” and discuss the benefits of Throat Coat tea and staying inside.

She'll perform Tuesday at The Replay Lounge and Sunday at the Eighth Street Taproom.
